Everything you need to know to generate role-specific interview questions with model answers — tailored to your job title, industry and experience level.
Open the Interview Prep GeneratorThe WorkersPool Interview Prep Generator produces a set of role-specific interview questions with detailed model answers — tailored to your job title, industry, experience level and the type of questions you want to practise. You choose 5, 8 or 10 questions and select a focus type, and the AI generates realistic questions you are likely to face in your actual interview.
Model answers are structured using the STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, Result) for behavioural questions, and as clear explanatory answers for technical and situational questions. Each answer is a framework for your own response — not a script to memorise verbatim.
The tool also includes a Quick Interview Tips panel with universally applicable preparation advice, and an optional company name field that tailors the questions to reflect what you know about the specific employer.

| Focus Type | What It Generates | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Mixed | Combination of all types below | First prep session — get a broad picture |
| Behavioural | STAR-format "tell me about a time" questions | Any interview — these appear in almost every role |
| Technical | Skills, knowledge and tools questions | Tech, engineering, finance, data and specialist roles |
| Situational | "What would you do if..." scenarios | Management, customer-facing and problem-solving roles |
| Culture Fit | Values, team and motivation questions | Startups, second/final rounds, culture-heavy employers |
| Leadership | Managing teams, decisions and influence | Manager, director and senior individual contributor roles |
STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, Result. Use it for all behavioural questions — "Tell me about a time when...", "Give me an example of...", "Describe a situation where..."
| Element | What to Cover | Time Allocation |
|---|---|---|
| Situation | Set the context — where, when, what was happening | ~10% of answer |
| Task | Your specific role or responsibility in the situation | ~15% of answer |
| Action | Exactly what YOU did — step by step, specific decisions | ~50% of answer |
| Result | What happened — quantified if possible | ~25% of answer |
Spend most of your time on Action and Result. The most common mistake is spending too long on Situation and not reaching a clear Result. Keep Situation to 1–2 sentences maximum.
Priya reads each question and drafts her own answer before revealing the model response. She practises all 8 questions aloud over two evenings. In the interview she answers the feature-kill question using the STAR structure and quantifies the result — the interviewer notes she is the strongest candidate they have seen for the role.
